With a long military history, we commemorate all Australians who served and died in war and on operational service. On ANZAC Day the Rottnest Island Authority commemorate those who have served their country with a special dawn service, followed by a free breakfast, Anzac-themed activities for kids, Oliver Hill Guns & Tunnel tours and more.

Discounted Ferry Fares with SeaLink Rottnest Island
50% off adults and children when travelling to Rottnest at 5:00am and returning at 10:10am or 3:30pm.
Includes Government Admission Fee. This can be booked online and no promotion code is needed.

Dawn Service
Presided over by officers from The ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIRFORCE NUMBER TWO FLYING TRAINING SCHOOL (2FTS), RAAF PEARCE, the beautiful dawn service commences at 6am on the grassed area outside Dome Cafe & Thomsons Restaurant.

Free Breakfast
The dawn service will be followed by our free ANZAC Day Breakfast cooked by the Rottnest Voluntary Guides Association in the Settlement Mall.

Anzac Day Train & Guns Tour

Take a scenic return Train ride to Oliver Hill and then enjoy a guided tour of the
Gun and Tunnels. Inspect the restored WWII 9.2 inch gun and underground tunnel, built as
a critical point of defence for Western Australia. Find out how the guns were
installed and operated.

Free kids activities
There will be a bundle of free kids activities for families to enjoy for the rest of the morning, including:
Military themed kids activities
Activity booklets (collect from the Visitor Centre)
ANZAC biscuit decorating
Cricket (serving soldiers used to play this to keep their mind off the war)
Sand art Send postcards to serving soldiers

Getting to the Dawn Service on Anzac Day
Early morning shuttle buses will be running for those accommodated on Rottnest Island. There will be a special shuttle bus to collect visitors from Kingstown Barracks at 5:20am and Geordie Bay bus stop at 5:30am.
