Rottnest Island Essential Hints and Safety Tips

A number of planned works and service improvements are taking place across Rottnest Island  to refresh and revitalise Rottnest Island facilities. As part of our plan to enhance your future visits, you will notice improvements taking place across many locations during your visit, including the resurfacing of the road network of the Settlement area by Main Roads WA. This is the first asphalt resurfacing program to ever be completed on the island and will improve the aging road surface for pedestrians and cyclists. During your visit or stay to Rottnest Island, the road works will include road preparation and the laying of asphalt. You may experience noise from the equipment and vehicles in use, and odour from the asphalt. The roads incorporating the work area will be closed during this time. The works will occur from 7am to 5pm Monday to Sunday from July through to September 2020. There will be a traffic management team to assist pedestrians and cyclists to safely move around any impacted areas.

Should you have further specific requirements in your Rottnest Island Authority accommodation or your visit, please do not hesitate to contact the Rottnest Island Authority Visitor Services team on 1800 111 111.
